Legal In Vermont Cocktail
Inspired by the flavors of fall, Johnny Swet created this cocktail as a cozy, autumn sipper. The smooth bourbon, cinnamon, and maple flavors are balanced with the addition of bright orange bitters. Always one to take advantage of fresh produce, Johnny couldn’t resist including the purple basil as an earthy component that also provides an elegant splash of color.
2 ounces Hudson Baby Bourbon
½ ounce maple syrup
¼ ounce cinnamon syrup
3 dashes orange bitters
cinnamon ice (freeze a cinnamon stick inside a large cube of ice)
Muddle purple basil, bourbon, maple syrup, cinnamon syrup, and orange bitters. Shake with ice for about ten seconds, then strain into a rocks glass with cinnamon ice, and garnish with a basil leaf.
