Eyes Wide Open Cocktail
We wanted to bring you a cocktail that was full of green for St. Patrick's Day, but with a non-traditional twist. This green tea based cocktail is perfect for the occasion. The added tequila and sparkling water make this a unique beverage to celebrate the occasion. For an added kick, there’s some habanero peppers so be prepared for the heat.
Tips for citrus garnishes:
Take your garnishes to the next level:
Twist - Shave o a thin strip of lemon peel. Try to get as little of the white pith as possible. Bend it over the side of your glass to release the essential oils and then drop into drink.
Flamed twist - Make a twist as described above and gently hold the peel by its edges. Hold a lit match underneath. Now flex the peel to release the oils towards the flame and into the drink.
Spiral - Using a paring knife, start at the top of the fruit and cut slowly and carefully in a long, continuous strip, circling outward. Arrange on rim.
Ingredients (for 2):
6.0 oz Owl’s Brew Wicked Green
3.0 oz tequila
2.0 oz sparkling water
1.0 oz lime wedges
Lemon flake sea salt
To create a salt rim, start with a plate of salt. Rub the rim of each glass with a lemon wedge then dip the rim into the salt. Place fresh ice into each glass. In a shaker, add Owl’s Brew Wicked Green and tequila. Shake hard for 15 seconds. Pour among the glasses. Taste. If you want your drink to be less spicy and more sippable, top off with sparkling water. Stir with a bar spoon. Add a lime wedge as a garnish. Enjoy!
