2017 cocktail trends: bourbon

As bourbon continues to proliferate in popularity, you can even find world-class tasting venues in the airport now! Book & Bourbon recently opened in Louisville International Airport and celebrates Kentucky’s deep bourbon heritage with 85 bourbon labels and a menu featuring upscale southern cooking. 

Here are some delicious bourbon cocktails for you to try:

Manhattan

Ingredients:
2.0 oz. Woodford Reserve
1.0 0z. Carpano Antica Formula
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
1 Brandied Cherry

Directions:
In a mixing glass, add Antica Formula, bitters, and Woodford Reserve. Add ice and stir until glass becomes frosted. Pour into rocks glass and garnish with a cherry.

Angels & Demons

Ingredients:
1.00 oz. Angel's Envy Bourbon
0.75 oz. Combier
0.75 oz. Aperol
0.50 oz. Demerara simple syrup
3 drops Hellfire Habanero Shrub

Directions:
In a mixing glass, add simple syrup and shrub. Add Aperol, Angel's Envy and Combier. Cover with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled glass and squeeze a lemon peel over the top. 

Mint Julep

Ingredients:
3.0 oz. Maker's Mark 46 Bourbon
1.5 oz. mint syrup
1 mint sprig

Directions:
Fill a rocks glass with crushed ice, bourbon and mint syrup. Top with more crushed ice and garnish with sprig top.
