Cucumber Gimlet Recipe
Ryan Valentine, Director of Beverage at Ocean Prime, wanted to make a cocktail that was a twist on as classic before doing that became so popular. He made it with different gins and decided on Bombay Sapphire since it's softer and shows nice citrus notes.
By using a less juniper forward gin, the cocktail becomes a great gin-lovers cocktail as well as being great for people that don’t think they even like gin.
The cocktail to me is perfectly balanced and the cucumber is well showcased but not overpowering.
1.5 oz. Bombay Sapphire Gin
1.0 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
1.0 oz. simple syrup
4 to 5 cucumber slices
In a shaker filled with ice, combined the ingredients and shake well. Pour into a glass filled with fresh ice and garnish with cucumber slices.
