Strawberry Mint Julep Cocktail Recipe
The Mint Julep is a classic drink made with bourbon, mint and syrup. It has a strong association with the American South and the Kentucky Derby. In fact, Old Forester Bourbon is the official bourbon of the Derby. It’s traditionally served in a silver cup. This version elevates the drink with mint syrup from Sonoma Syrup Company and a fresh strawberry. Enjoy it during the warm spring days ahead.
1.75 oz. Old Forester Bourbon
0.5 oz. Sonoma Syrup Co. mint syrup
1 Large strawberry
Garnish: mint and strawberries
Muddle a large strawberry in a Mint Julep cup or rocks glass. Add the bourbon and the mint syrup. Fill with cracked or pebble ice up to the top. Take a spoon or a swizzle stick and gently mix. Top with more freshly cracked ice. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a strawberry.
