Peerless Purple Cocktail Recipe
CLIFT's Redwood Room, a swanky San Francisco bar allegedly paneled with redwood from a single 2,000 year old tree, opened in 1933. That was the same year Prohibition was lifted.
This year brings a whole new kind of cocktail to CLIFT's Redwood Room. Thanks to a new rooftop apiary, Mixologist Tony Kim has been able to craft two new cocktails using the very, very local honey from CLIFT's own bees.
This spring they transformed their second floor balcony into a garden of herbs, flowers, and edibles to provide a habitat for the bees, as well as feed their restaurants and of course, also serve as a resource for CLIFT’s mixologists to create infused spirits and new concoctions.
Here is one of their featured drinks, Peerless Purple, using their onsite, organic honey.
2.00 oz. lavender-infused gin
0.75oz honey syrup
0.75oz lemon juice
Dash lavender bitters
Combine all ingredients in shaker. Shake and strain into cocktail glass. Garnish with lemon twist.
