Javier Wallbanger Cocktail Recipe

Javier Wallbanger Cocktail Recipe

The Harvey Wallbanger may have gained popularity on the disco floors of the 1970s, but at Bracero Cocina de Raiz, bar manager Christian Siglin has renamed the old standard and given it a fresh twist for the new millennium.

The master mixlogist concocted the Javier Wallbanger, named for Bracero’s head chef, Javier Plascencia. Christian also updated the classic that counted vodka as its base: In a salute to Chef Javier Plascencia’s Mexican heritage, he uses tequila instead.

Christian began his career tending bar at the Hyatt Regency in La Jolla and has become recognized as a pioneer in his industry by customers who claim that he “makes quite possibly the most delicious cocktails in San Diego.”

A native San Diegan and Eater San Diego’s “Bartender of the Year,” Christian is taking Little Italy to a new level of taste and service with an innovative flair that is worth toasting. He also earned a coveted spot on Tales of the Cocktail’s list of Top 10 Finalists for the 2012 Spirited Awards.
