Angry Refreshmint Cocktail Recipe
In celebration of World Cocktail Day on May 13th, we pay homage to the most delicious and enduring of inventions – the cocktail. Don’t settle for everyday ingredients on this special occasion. This year, add cider! Cider is an incredibly versatile ingredient that effortlessly adds body, bubbles and balance to classic mixed drinks.
To kick off your festivities, Angry Orchard’s resident mixologist, Jeremy Oertel of Donna and one of Food & Wine’s Best New Mixologists, is sharing a few of his favorite cider-infused cocktails.
The slight effervescence and subtle sweetness both balance and brighten your cocktail leaving you with a refreshing, smooth finish on your palette.
1.0 oz white rum
0.5 oz lime juice
0.5 oz simple syrup
1 dash Angostura Bitters
2 slices cucumber (Muddled)
5 to 6 mint leaves (Muddled)
4.0 oz Angry Orchard Crisp Apple
Muddle mint and cucumber in a shaker then add all ingredients except cider. Shake with ice and fine strain into a rocks glass with ice and top with cider. Garnish with a mint sprig and cucumber wheel.
