Make Your Own Gin & Tonic Bar

You know what's really cool? Building your own gin and tonic bar!

This Saturday, April 9th is International Gin & Tonic Day. Whether it's today or another time you're hosting a party, you can easily put together a fun bar for your friends to make their own G+T. 

The key is to have high quality ingredients and then it's all about being creative in combining and sampling the different flavors. 

If you really want to rock it, you can print out the ingredients and recipe cards below to help your guests out. Our friends at No. 209 Distillery came up with a list of suggested items to include in your bar:

Cinnamon sticks, cardamom, star anise, juniper berries, pink peppercorns, black and white peppercorns

Mint, basil, time, rosemary, edible flowers

Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, peach cubes, grapefruit cubes, jicama sticks, lime wedges, dried pineapple rings, dried cranberries, lemon curd, orange, lemon and a lime slices

Tonic selection:
Q Tonic, Fever Tree, Fentiman's, Jack Rudy Small Batch Tonic, John's Premium Tonic

Now that you have your bar assembled, here's some sample cocktails you can easily make:

2.0 oz. No. 209 Gin 
4.0 oz. Fever Tree Indian Tonic
2-3 Cinnamon Sticks
1 Star Anise
Orange Zest
Juniper Berries
Pink Peppercorns

Add gin and tonic over a large ice cube. Add large mint sprig, cinnamon sticks, star anise, orange zest, juniper berries and pinkpeppercorns to glass. 

Costa Brava

2.0 oz. No. 209 Gin
0.5 oz Juice of Nectarine or White Peach
4.0 oz. Mediterranean Tonic
Dried Cranberries
Black Peppercorns
Sliced Nectarine or White Peach 

Add gin, juice and tonic over ice. Add dried cranberries, black peppercorns and sliced fruit to glass. 

Frambuesa Fresca

2.0 oz. No. 209 gin
1 teaspoon Lemon Curd
4.0 oz. Bitter Lemon Fever Tree Tonic
3 Raspberries
Lemon thyme
Grapefruit Zest 

Shake lemon curd and gin over ice and strain into glass over ice. Add tonic. Garnish with raspberries, grapefruit zest, and large sprigs of lemon thyme to glass. 

San Francisco Gin & Tonic

1.5 oz. No. 209 Gin
3-4 oz. Fever Tree Indian Tonic
6 Juniper Berries
0.5 oz. Grapefruit Juice
Rosemary Sprig 

Add gin to glass, followed by ice cubes. Add tonic, juice, juniper berries and rosemary sprig.
