Ginto Luis Cocktail Recipe

Ginto Luis Cocktail Recipe

At Cirka Distilleries, Brand Ambassador and reigning Canadian Made with Love mixology champion, Romain Cavelier, developed this tasty recipe to celebrate International Gin & Tonic day.

Gintö Luis was inspired by Romain’s friend, Luis, a Spanish chef who lived and travelled the world before settling in Montreal, Canada. According to Romain, Luis never compromises, talks too much, and loves gin & tonic — but not your classic gin & tonic.

This is a gin and tonic with a hint of mediterranean flavors and memories of paella. Spaniards call Gin & Tonic ‘Gintö’, and drink it in large wine glasses with lots of zest and berries!

Ingredients:

1.50 oz. CIRKA Gin Sauvage
0.50 oz Lemongrass Syrup (recipe below)
0.25 oz Mandarine Napoléon
8 Juniper berries
3 Cloves
2 Star anise
3 Grapefruit zests
Tonic
Star Anise (Garnish)

Directions:

Place all ingredients in a wine glass. Fill with ice. Top with tonic.

Lemongrass Syrup Recipe:

Ingredients:

500 ml water
500 ml sugar
3 lemongrass sticks

Directions:

Place 3 cut lemongrass sticks in a pan with the water. Boil. Add sugar. Boil again and let cool.
