5 Spice Sazerac Cocktail Recipe
Sazeracs are often made with rye whiskey, but with the addition of a Chinese 5 spice syrup, Watershed Bourbon is a perfect fit to compliment the spiciness.
This cocktail is stiff, warm and very fall-like.
2.00 oz. Watershed Bourbon
0.75 oz. 5 spice syrup
2 dashes orange bitters
To make the syrup, add 1.5 tbs 5 spice to 1 pint of simple syrup. Shake vigorously while hot to incorporate.
Inside a rocks glass, coat the inside with a splash of absinthe and dump the excess. Combine Watershed bourbon, 5 spice syrup, and bitters. Stir to incorporate. Add ice, and garnish with an orange peel and a cinnamon stick.
